The dusting problem

Bare concrete sheds fine particles continuously as traffic abrades the surface. In a distribution center that dust settles on inventory, gets into equipment, and drives constant cleaning. Polishing solves it at the source: the densifier hardens the surface so it stops breaking down, and the polished finish stops generating dust entirely. Nothing to peel under forklift traffic

This is the decisive advantage over coatings in heavy industrial use. A coating is a layer bonded to the slab, and under repeated forklift wheel loads, pallet drags, and point impacts, layers eventually fail somewhere. Light reflectivity and operating cost

A polished floor reflects a substantial amount of overhead light back into the space. In a large facility with high bays, that improves visibility in aisles and can reduce how many fixtures are needed to hit a target light level. Choosing a finish level for industrial use

Warehouses rarely want a mirror finish. A flat or satin sheen with a cream or salt-and-pepper aggregate exposure is usually the right specification: durable, forgiving of traffic patterns, and less prone to showing scuffs than high gloss. Working with an existing slab

Most warehouse projects involve concrete that is already down, sometimes decades old and carrying old coatings, adhesives, and joint damage. Joints and cracks are filled with semi-rigid filler so wheel loads transfer across them rather than chipping the edges.

Maintenance in a working facility
